What you’ll do
Working in the Engineering team within our Technical Services Group, the Associate Software Engineer UI is a hands-on coding role responsible for the following primary duties:
You will work as a key member of a cross-functional agile team, alongside other Developers, Designers, Quality Engineers and Product delivery specialists. We’re working on the development of our next generation learning platform and content solutions utilising the latest web technologies. You will be involved in all aspects of technical solutioning from feature design, rapid prototyping, implementation and deployment - to maintenance and architectural improvement.
You will work with modern Web technologies such as ECMAScript6, ReactJS, Node/NPM, Jenkins, GIT.
You will possess strong coding capabilities, are a natural problem solver, focussed on quality, with the ability to communicate enthusiastically, clearly and concisely to other Engineers as well as with other HMH functional teams.
Specifically
  • You will work collaboratively within a cross-functional, agile development team
  • You will contribute to the collective ownership & delivery of feature design, development and maintenance
  • You will have a proven understanding of project tracking and agile development methodologies

What you’ll need
  • Working knowledge of modern JavaScript language features, frameworks and libraries
  • Some professional experience delivering great User Experiences
  • Experience using Testing Frameworks a bonus
  • Working knowledge of Agile teams and methodologies
  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline OR equivalent work experience
